I was admitted to the emergency room and was diagnosed with a splenic laceration. I was taken upstairs to the Surgical Stepdown Unit. As soon as I got there, Samantha made sure that I was comfortable and anything I needed, she did her best to get it. When my wife came the next day, she looked at Samantha and said you were the nurse who took care of me when I was here last year. She turned to me and said you are in "good hands." Two days later I asked about signing on the patient portal to access my records, although she couldn't process the request, she got in touch with someone who knew how to do it. Throughout my stay, Samantha consistently informed me about the medication and the reason why it was prescribed. I needed a cup to put my dentures in and there were none on the floor. She went to another floor to get the cup. I found her to be a nurse who advocates for her patients and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure they are comfortable.
