Jill is the NI at SMJC. I witness her compassion for her position daily. As an applications specialist, I value her support. She has helped us by taking on many of the site support activities when we were unavailable. Many physicians consider her invaluable because of the help she has provided them. Jill has taken on roles above and beyond what is probably required of an NI Nurse. During our recent staffing issues, she worked tirelessly helping to find the staff to fill open needs. She spent an entire Saturday entering tickets to get nurses from other entities access to SMJC as they were willing to travel to help out. Not only did she work on this, she rounded on the floors, helped move patients, answer call lights, and generally helped the nurses as needed. She was also able to coach them if they had Epic questions. She comes in all hours of the day or night to make rounds, help physicians and educate staff.
We recently completed Alaris pump integration at our entity. She worked long hours (12+) every day before, during and after the integration to assure success. Jill does all of this with a smile on her face. Much of what she had done recently has been while she was also dealing with her own medical issues. Jill asks pertinent questions and takes the initiative to learn all she can about available technology, so she can help others. In her NI role, Jill has spent a great deal of time with individual units helping them to improve their workflow.
