Tim is an outstanding nurse who provides exemplary care to all of his patients. He dedicates his time in the ED teaching patients and staff both verbally and through his interaction. Recently he taught a Code Green class and emphasized the need to hear the patient and take time to listen. During this class, Tim volunteered to act as the patient in which the code was called. Tim made this a very real situation with his exceptional acting and allowed us to exercise real takedowns.

Tim is one of the first RNs to assist in all areas when needed in the ED and provides excellent and compassionate care. Tim will stay late or come in early when we are short - many times doing a 16-hour shift! You would never know it; his demeanor is always pleasant, and he is always eager to help out.

Tim demonstrates dedication for his patients and his coworkers. He drives from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Shakopee, Minnesota to get to work. He picks up extra shifts to help out the department. Tim is also resourceful for IV insertion. I remember a time I tried two times on a child. The parents were scared. Tim came in and calmly inserted the IV. Another situation was a baby who we cathed for urine multiple times. Tim came up with a way to leave cath in until child produced urine, urine present within 30 minutes. Tim is very calm and works well with our psych population.
