My mom was admitted to Southview via the Emergency Department. It was eventually determined that she was in the late stage of probably pancreatic cancer which had spread to her lungs and liver. We went home 6 days later, and mom passed away while in Hospice care in the early hours of the morning, just 9 days after. While all the staff were exceptionally caring to her (up to and including cleaning staff) Leah went out of her way to reassure mom when she was at her worst and to do the same for our family, me in particular.
Had it not been for Leah's knowledge I would not have been able to help my mom through the last few days of her life. Leah offered information on Hospice care and what to expect with mom's illness. Information that we would not have had otherwise. She mentioned she has worked for several years at a cancer treatment facility in the past which made me feel more comfortable with the information she was giving me. Again, thanks to all of you.
