I had a four-night stay in the hospital. During that time, I had the care of a wonderful nursing and tech staff. Shadayne was very cheerful, welcoming and efficient as she settled me in. Around 3:00 AM, she comforted and assisted in preparing me for a trip to radiology. When I returned to my room, she again settled me back in with humorous and distracting comments to help calm me.
Sometime later, I woke up to my whole body shaking and jerking uncontrollably. Shadayne called the Hospitalists and they conferred. I am not sure what treatment they decided on but this nurse soothed and comforted me. When things were quiet on the floor, she brought her workstation and sat at the foot of my bed. Every time I looked up, she was watching me and told me she was there for me and that she was not leaving me and that everything would be alright.
Without her excellent nursing skills and warm caring bedside manner, I don't know how I would have made it through the night. I was so happy to see her the next night. My condition had moderated so her undivided attention wasn't necessary, yet she was still just as caring and helpful all the while carrying out her other nursing duties. Thank you, Shadayne, you were my guardian angel!
