Sydney helped my husband during a very difficult part of his hospitalization. She took care of his needs and followed the orders for dispersing meds, etc., but she saw that he had needs that were developing and she went the extra mile to help him.
After many procedures, a lot of blood transfusions and surgery, my husband had been in ICU for over 50 days. He became withdrawn and his recovery was not progressing. Sydney filled in the gaps when Physical Therapy was not coming, she helped him out of bed, she found things to help him feel good, she advised him and our family about how to break the cycle.
If she had not been proactive and advocated for him, I'm sure his recovery would have declined. Because of her help, the problems were temporary, and he started getting better.
She spent a lot of time helping my husband. She could have considered many of the things someone else's job. She went above and beyond what she "had" to do.
I am so thankful we had Sydney to help us during this very difficult time.
