Jackie took care of me on my first night of induction of my first child. From my very first meeting of her, she was very warm, welcoming, and positive. She made me feel as comfortable as possible as I began to experience my first contractions the first night. She thoroughly explained each part of my induction so I could understand what to expect. I never felt like she was rushed or distracted.
The second night of my labor I had Jackie again and she was once again amazing. She was so patient with me even wiped my tears and snot from my face. She took time to hold my hands, offered me verbal encouragement countless times, and managed my care to the best of her ability by working quickly. I remember looking at her at one point and saying, "Jackie, I'm not going to make it. I can't do this."
To which she replied, "Yes you can, don't ever doubt yourself. You can do this." She taught me the "towel pushing method" which really helped me during delivery. She was in my room continuously that second night up until about 2:30 AM when she finally could take a break.
Even after my labor/birth, Jackie patiently provided me with education for my newborn and for my postpartum. As a nurse myself, I know how busy and demanding this field of work can be. Jackie is an exceptional nurse, person, and employee. Southview is blessed to have her on their team.
