This nurse is an invaluable asset to the Englewood Hospice team and she is the role model for the Hospice nurses. She is one of the most compassionate, gentle, knowledgeable, and dedicated nurses to patients entering their End of Life. She shares with patients' precious moments, laughter, smiles, and courage through their most difficult time for them and their loved ones. She goes above and beyond to meet patients' needs, doing everything she can to get them what is needed.
Besides being a compassionate nurse, she supports her fellow nurses. She engages hospice team members to help support the patients, their families, and their loved ones, providing comfort, peace, and guidance to them. Monika is one of our hospice preceptors. She has a natural ability for teaching. She is patient, kind, and devoted. Monika herself is open to learning and listening. She has established and maintains excellent relationships with all of the Hospice team members. Monika goes above and beyond for the needs of the Hospice team. She has and continues to be a true pleasure to work with.
The team received this beautiful note written by the daughter of one of our patients: "Our mom was in the Englewood Hospital hospice program. My two brothers and I were sent an angel. We were so blessed that she had our case because without her we were lost. We never met such a wonderful, kind, compassionate, and yet professional and knowledgeable nurse. She wasn't just our mom's nurse, but also our mentor, our therapist, our friend, and we called her our guardian angel. She was always there to call (and answered), any time of day or night. Any issues our mom was having, she came to see her and help, and put us at ease. She is truly a very special person and an extremely dedicated nurse who helped us through the most difficult month of our lives. The loss is heartbreaking, but we just had to take the time to say thank you for the gift of bringing us, Monika Stoll".
