I brought my mother to the ER at Edmonds Swedish around 7 pm. Long wait and extremely busy but once we were in a room, received kind, thoughtful care from every nurse, especially a man who I am told is named "Jerzy". My mother is 93. She had been having trouble swallowing all day. Jerzy showed her a lot of respect and compassion; making sure IV and blood draw was done properly, blankets when she felt cold, helped her with accessibility/bathroom needs, and was very patient all the time. He explained what he was doing and why it was taking longer to get test results. There were many other patients and he seemed to be thoughtful and polite to everyone. Before giving my mom medication by mouth, he had her take a little sip of water to see if she could keep that down (She couldn't). Then moved on to a 'plan B'. We appreciated all he did on this busy night.
