My father recently had to have a second surgery on his back to clean out an infection and fluid collection that built up. During this procedure, my father stopped breathing and surgery was quickly halted. The result of this left my father intubated and on a vent to help him breathe.
The thought of this was too overwhelming and the first night I went to see him in this condition I was in tears. I gathered myself and asked nurse Allison what was going on. She took the time to educate me on what was happening. This might sound normal, but she was compassionate, professional, and informative when it came to questions regarding his condition. She took great care of my dad for 2 nights, even asking if I was okay on several occasions. She truly was a fantastic nurse.
Allison gave me such appreciation for nurses. Without question, I know she puts that same effort day in and day out. CentraState is lucky to have such a fantastic individual. I am truly grateful for her care with my father.
