Bri was assigned to High Acuity in the ED on the overnight. A man was brought in via EMS from his residence. He had fallen at home, was dressed in clothing he had not washed for some time, had not showered for quite some time, and was covered in mud. Bri made an instant connection with the patient, who was kind and vulnerable and acted with compassion. With the help of a Care Tech, they took the man to the shower, stripped off his clothes, and washed the patient as well as his hair. This process took washing and rinsing both his hair and body multiple times. The patient also had very long fingernails, which she cut and filed!! Bri went above and beyond to make this patient more comfortable and enable the provider team to effectively care for him.
