Amy is the epitome of a nurse that every patient wants to have! She is truly selfless and always puts her patients first. I had the pleasure of shadowing Amy during my first clinical. On this particular day, she was caring for a homeless patient that kept asking for reading glasses. Amy asked almost every staff member we saw if there were any reading glasses for this patient. When everyone said no, she told me that she was going to get some reading glasses for him, because "How else was he ever going to get any?"
I then had the pleasure of shadowing Amy during my last clinical as well. She had a big canvas made for a patient that got married on the Oncology floor. She also included their vows within the canvas! That patient finally returned to the Oncology floor after a few months today, and Amy ran to her car during her lunch break to go get the canvas for the patient. We need more selfless and caring nurses like Amy! She has made an impressive impact on the type of nurse I am going to be.

I work with Amy as a CNA on Oncology. I've worked with many nurses in my career, and Amy is by far the most caring, compassionate, and kind nurse I have ever had the privilege of working with. She treats the CNAs like equals. Amy is always willing to help other CNAs on the floor and is always willing to let me learn. She is an older nurse, who acquired her license later in life, who has inspired me to become an RN. Thank you!
