My son was admitted with a ruptured appendix. He is ten and I was terrified. As his mother it's my job to protect him and take his pain away, however in that critical moment, all I could do was hold my breath and say a prayer. He spent the next seven days on the children's oncology unit, as the rupture was severe, and doctors were concerned. I am writing to share with you my overwhelming gratitude for your staff and the amazing care they gave my son.
From the surgeon to Denise and Irene, our favorite nurses, my son was given such care and shown such love by your staff. I was taken aback by how much love and warmth we felt, a true testament to the heroes living their life's' calling you have staffed at Summerlin hospital.
Also, what moved me beyond words was the love and care I witnessed shown to all those precious kiddos fighting through cancer on floor six, where we were. To do a job is to complete a task and scratch it off a list; to be a Doctor or Nurse at Summerlin Hospital in the children's unit of floor six is to be a hero, an angel, an advocate of love, life, and hope. Thank you, thank you all, for healing my son and touching my heart.
