Have had the pleasure of being Olivia's patient during previous admissions. She is an excellent patient advocate, attentive, compassionate, understanding, highly honed skills carried out professionally and efficiently. All the while calming and helping the patient understand the process of events. Gentle touch and respectful nature.
I've written about her before, but this is regarding an incident that occurred last evening with myself and her. Wasn't trying to be overdramatic- it was like the perfect storm with me and she brought me through it all. Nausea, chest discomfort, sweating, shortness of breath, flushed face, low blood sugar 64, possible diverticulitis flare up. Step by step her actions efficient and symptoms alleviated as a direct result of her actions and caregiving. She was calm, clear-headed, in the zone. Her focus never wavered. Huge comfort to me even after every episode subsided, she thought of ways to help with my IV popping veins- EDC- not as drastic or permanent as mid or PICC line. Once again, thinking of her patient. Her work was above and beyond and will truly be unforgettable.
