Alicia was very upbeat and courteous to me right out of the shoot. Laughing and joking with me made me smile. She was going over everything going on with me ever since I have been here. She told me about her job and what she hopes everyone on the floor does. Then she told me she was the head nurse on the night shift normally. Then she told me she likes working on the floor so she can communicate with the patients. Now, how good is that when she has no problem getting back on the floor to deal with not only the good people but the bad ones as well. I can't see anyone being mad at her she comes across as a person who truly cares about each and every patient. When people talk about going above and beyond, she is the picture that should be next to the explanation of The DAISY Award. I think she is a DAISY Nurse you don't get where she is by not being a good role model. And that goes for the patients. I feel like I can do better, and I don't even work here. I'm willing to bet the other nurses look up to her as a role model. How can they not? She is very compassionate when it comes to the patients. She asks about you and your condition, and your stay here. Alicia is the type of person you want to be friends with. I truly believe that she asks questions to get to know you not just to make you think she cares but that she does. I want Alicia to be recognized.
