I knew Deyonna loved being a nurse the first time she entered my room. Her 100-watt smile lit up my heart. Her presence and laughter made me let go of the stress I was hiding without her knowing. She made me feel better and relaxed. Sometimes it takes more than a pill to help a person recover, it takes a person with a warm caring heart and sincere concern to accomplish that without even trying. Nurse Deyonna is very special sometimes you need someone like her more than a pill or shot to feel better.

Nurse Deyonna was wonderful, when she first walked into my room her beautiful smile just lit up my room, she was very attentive to my needs, making sure I was comfortable. I was concerned about my blood pressure fluctuation and my oxygen numbers, she put my mind at ease when my pressure went higher than my normal level, and the progress I was making on my oxygen numbers. While weaning me off the oxygen, she made sure I was feeling ok with each new level as she adjusted the oxygen machine. She was a breath of fresh air with her easy-going personality, she brought needed calmness into my life during a time when I was feeling very stressed. Her laughter made me laugh and helped me to release a lot of the pinned-up stress I was hiding inside. She deserves to be recognized for being a great nurse. She administered the best medicine you have in your hospital a great smile, laughter, concern, calmness, and most of all compassion.
