Yesterday an Obstetrical emergency was called in L&D. We were called to the OR to assist. A call was made to the main OR for some equipment, and Kara Olszewski answered the request for help. She immediately brought up what we initially needed, but then stayed to assist the nurses in L&D to help stabilize the situation. Kara then made an additional three trips to the main OR to bring supplies to L&D. Her assistance was the defining moment that helped ensure that this patient was stabilized successfully.
Jefferson is blessed with many spectacular staff who do a great job daily. We feel Kara went above and beyond her responsibilities and helped save this patient. Although we are honored with working with Kara daily, we feel that her actions yesterday deserve special recognition. In a time when COVID has changed how we all work in medicine, Kara continues to demonstrate the best of Jefferson.
