This weekend day, Angie was pulled to a different unit. She had a diabetic patient scheduled for discharge on this weekend day. While talking with her patient, Angie discovered the patient still had many questions regarding insulin administration.
Angie called a local pharmacy to get emergency prescription coverage for the patient as the patient's insurance coverage was pending and the patient would not have insurance coverage when discharged from the hospital. Angie gave 110% that day and possibly prevented a second hospitalization for this patient!
