Our unit was notified by the PCC that the father of a patient on our unit was actively dying on their unit. Samantha was caring for the patient on our unit, who required cardiac monitoring and a Heparin drip. She took her patient to the unit where the patient's father was actively dying. She had to transport the patient with the IV pole and a transport monitor and stay with the patient while she was visiting her father. She was able to see her father just before he passed away. Samantha stayed with her patient on the other unit for an hour as she remained at her father's bedside. Samantha is a fantastic nurse in every way. She always advocates for every patient she cares for. She is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure patients get what they need and she gives them the best care possible.
