At midnight, I went to CHI Health St. Elizabeth because I was in labor. Jessie was the nurse who took care of me. She was very patient and helpful. She patiently waited for my contractions to go away before asking me questions. Throughout my 3 hours of labor, she consistently helped me with ways to make my pain bearable, from birthing ball to changing positions. Not only did she offer them, but she also made sure that I wanted them instead of being pushy. We finally figured out that rubbing my back helped so she would rub my back every single time I had a contraction for over an hour! When I was about to give up, she kept encouraging me that I can do this. Even after my son was born, she continued providing care and support. I honestly feel that my labor would not have gone as smoothly if it wasn't for her. She went above and beyond to take care of me. This was my third birth and she is definitely the best nurse I have ever had. Jessie definitely made me feel like I was in good hands and that I can concentrate on the one reason I was there that morning, which is to safely deliver a baby.
