The lactation consultant was my life-changer and my COVID-19 Hero. I salute her. I gave up on breastfeeding because of failure to successfully feed my older one but her smile behind the mask, her compassionate care, her passion, and her visiting me 3 times in 8-9 hours. Every 3 hours I was calling her with a different challenge, which changed my life, and my decision changed. Her confidence empowered me and I am going home tonight within 36 hours of giving birth to my 2nd baby.
She helped me in latching and she walked with me while pumping at 6:30 in the evening. I could see tiredness on her face, but she was fantastic. She advised me not to feel alone even at home. She explained to me each resource on paper in depth. And asked me to take a pic of the resources sheet on my phone, so I could easily retrieve and put the numbers into my phone. She explained to me all the apps.
Also, when I was alone in my room she even warmed the food for me. The only thing she didn't allow me to do is to take a picture with her. I wanted to show my daughter a true hero.
