To know Cathy, her character, her personality, her work, which makes it easy to understand this nomination. Cathy is more than "just" our hyperbaric (HBO) nurse. While she makes HBO look easy, it is her devotion to patient safety and knowledge of the latest updates that makes her patients trust her and feel at ease. Her explanations and patient care for safety and education not only simplify HBO for patients but establishes an immediate trust and rapport that they're in safe hands.
But her skills don't start or end with HBO. Cathy is our fire safety coordinator, our staff education up keeper, our extra set of nursing hands-on busy days, our fill-in front office coordinator, our insurance checker, our bookkeeper, our payroll manager, and overall jack of all trades. There isn't a job or task that Cathy can't handle. And she does everything asked of her extraordinarily well. She shines in all that she does, and she continues to shine despite the adversity our clinical has endured. And while she may downplay her worth, the Wound Care Center knows how priceless Cathy is to patient care and successful business operations.
