During my mother's care at NMMC, I encountered Peggy Thompson. My first encounter was when she attended to the care of my brother, who was also admitted during my mother's stay. My brother raved about the kindness and support Peggy provided him while he was recovering from a procedure in the CCU.
A few days later, I had the privilege of experiencing the same support and kindness as Peggy was assigned to my mom. She was very knowledgeable about my mother's condition and case. She greeted us nightly with a big smile and explained what to expect throughout the night. Most importantly, each time she came into the room, she never ceased with her departure without saying, "Can I get something else/anything for you? I'm right outside if you need me, just let me know!" She showed that her words were her bond because she stuck by my mom's side through her roughest night after her tracheotomy. Her kindness and steadfastness along with commitment and dedication gave me peace of mind.
