Karla is a DAISY Nurse because not only did she provide exceptional care for our 23-weekerfrom the day he was born, she cared for our whole family.
Karla made sure mom was okay after the traumatic start to our journey that we weren't prepared for. Karla took the time to listen to our concerns and followed up after. The care she gave our son was nothing short of amazing! She paid attention to everything during his care and was able to know what he needed, so she could fill in other nurses so they could give him the best care possible. She truly loved and cared for our son as much as we do!
One of the things that touch our hearts was when our10-year-olddaughter told Karla she wanted to be a NICU nurse when she grows up. Karla took the time to show her what it's like to be a NICU nurse by teaching her how to take her brother's temperature, listen to his heart, clean his eyes and mouth, and change his bedding. She knows how to make a nest better than most nurses.
We are so grateful to have Karla as our primary nurse!
