Cindy is welcoming, always has a smile on her face, and I always feel like I am important to her and that she listens. She respects her co-workers and teammates. She is the kind of nurse many of us on the unit look up to and wish to be like someday. Cindy pushes us to do our best work every day. I feel like I have learned from one of the best.
She consistently advocates for her patients and their families, as well as her co-workers. She provides safe, excellent, quality patient care. Cindy always has patients in mind. Everything she does is for her patient. She takes pride in her patient's appearance, their rooms, and takes pride in her nursing care. She strives to have positive outcomes for her patients, and most of them do.
Her critical thinking skills are amazing, and she is my go-to person when we are working together. She always seems to be thinking one step ahead and anticipating a patient need. She is always willing to help and teach. Cindy was my preceptor when I first started in the unit, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn from her. It helped to shape me into the nurse I am today. I appreciate her being a mentor to me. My favorite memory is a shift we recently shared and the entire nurse crew working that day had been trained by Cindy. I remember us all chuckling to ourselves and saying "We are her ducklings and she has trained us well. Cindy gave us the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be excellent nurses." She is our teacher, our mentor, and our guide. She pushes us to think critically and work through problems. She makes us all better nurses.
I love working with Cindy. She is so willing to help out, and her support and positive attitude are contagious. She promotes teamwork and we all step-up and help each other. She makes it so that by helping each other on the unit, we are able to give the very best care to our patients. Cindy does exemplify the MaineGeneral Health Values and Standards.
