A young female patient checked into the ED with an allergic reaction to hairspray that was used for her homecoming hair style. The poor girl was in tears because homecoming was in an hour and a half. Her treatment team quickly treated the reaction including a shower in the ED. Once the hives went down, Bethany stayed after their shift and helped the girl get ready for homecoming, including braiding her wet hair beautifully and helping with her makeup to make this a special day for their patient. A family member went and got her dress. She was dressed, hair done, make up on, and discharged before 8 PM. Her mom could not say enough nice things about the staff and what they did for her daughter. The patient was all smiles as she left in time for homecoming!
