A patient's wife wanted to thank Armando for his attention to detail and his friendliness while caring for her husband. The husband came to the ER with what he thought were cardiac issues based on his history. Thus the doctor and staff were working him up for possible cardiac problems. But while Armando was inserting IVs and casually chatting with the couple, he noticed a symptom unrelated to cardiac that the husband had not disclosed to the doctor. Armando reported this symptom to the doctor immediately, and the diagnosis and treatment shifted. Follow-up tests confirmed that it was not cardiac related at all, but something entirely different. Armando saved the couple a lot of time and worry simply by being personable and attentive.
