Gian took great care of me today. He is not only a professional nurse but also a very kind one as well. He was efficient in performing his duties while he took care of me. He went above and beyond to manage my comfort level and managing my pain. He tried to advocate for me and called the doctors and explained to them what I was going through. I was in so much pain and due to Gian's intervention and coordination with his team and the doctors, he eased my suffering and comforted me. The doctor gave me the appropriate orders to manage my pain and Gian also informed me and educated me on the proper use and the proper protocol in using the PCA pump.
I am truly grateful to have a nurse like him and I am extremely thankful for being here at Harbor-UCLA and for the staff of 3 East who has taken care of me since I got admitted, especially to Gian, who always went above and beyond, not only in giving me what I needed but also by listening and advocating for me. He could have simply given me what was ordered but he did not leave me behind and instead, spoke for me when I couldn't. He is truly a "Super-Human" and he is amazing at what he does.
This is a simple thank you for someone who has made a tremendous impact on me, and I'm sure, for other patients to come.
