Julie is always taking new graduate nurses and staff members under her wing. She makes sure to socially integrate them to the team, to make them feel comfortable in their environment, safe so they can ask questions and learn and provide the best patient care possible. Julie makes sure to check back in with the new graduates, although she may not be their assigned preceptor, to make sure they are doing ok and have what they need in the first few weeks of their employment.
It really doesn't stop there because Julie is still always making sure her team has what they need and feel emotionally supported if that means being able to vent or share ideas. Julie is definitely a "cheerleader" for nursing at NCH and is such a friendly and familiar face to her peers. While the work environment may be challenging and things get tough, she makes sure her team stays focused and brings solutions, not added problems. This helps the teamwork better; for each other and for our patients. The new staff and seasoned staff alike just love Julie for these qualities.
