Our grandfather who was suffering from lung cancer has had many trips to this unit, little did we know this would be his last time. From the time we got here to the day we left on hospice to take grandpa home, Nikki was a stable rock for our family. From providing him with the best care possible and making sure he was comfortable, to staying late after her shift to be there in the room when the doctor let us know he only had days left.
Nikki even came in on her day off to spend time with our family and grandfather and even brought grandma and his five daughters a very special gift of keys that would keep our family together. All her efforts mean the world to our family and we are forever grateful to have had her with us during his last few days. Nikki, we will forever appreciate you and all you did for our grandfather.
