My Mom went to Sentara Obici thinking she needed fluids. She did indeed need fluids; however, we received the news that she only had a few days left with us. Brittany was one of the nurses who helped take care of my Mom. When things got rough and my Mom was in pain, Brittany was there to comfort her and us throughout the journey. She was there to talk us through every step of the journey. She helped to comfort my Dad when my Mom could no longer speak.
Brittany was working the overnight shift and at the end of her first night she came into the room and before leaving that morning and said to me, "Thank you for letting me take care of your Mom." That statement meant the world to me and will stay with me forever. That same night my Mom passed away. Brittany was back for the night shift. She came into the room and checked my Mom and then immediately came to each of us and gave us a hug. Brittany made our journey bearable and helped comfort us and keep us informed throughout our time there. Thank you, Brittany, for all that you do!
