Valerie overheard a call I made to my son asking him if he could bring me any of his old baggy, stretched-out undershorts. My son weighs approximately 195lbs and I weigh approximately 121lbs. I explained to my son that the panties I had were tight and difficult to pull over the stitches (hip and knee area). Pulling the panties up or down, on or off, would cause me pain because they would catch on the stitches around and on my left knee and stitches on my hip.
When I hung up, Valerie suggested panties she could get or order for me that would be better and that I might like to try. I said yes! The new panties arrived; they were perfect, soft and very lightweight. They easily stretched to accommodate going above and over the stitches. I no longer had to have pain from stitches catching on my panties.
My comfort level improved during PT and OT, allowing me to work harder in therapy. I also want to mention that Valerie gives a great Lovenox shot. Almost completely painless.
Valerie is an excellent nurse; professional, smart, compassionate and caring. I nicknamed her "precious sunshine". She always brought her special sunshine to my room.
