Sophia was G's night nurse for a few nights while we were in the Sanford PICU. It must mean something that she is the only nurse that I can remember. All the nurses who took care of G were amazing. However, Sophia made the biggest impact. I spent many nights awake, unable to sleep so I spent that time laying with G and talking with Sophia. I was raised as a Catholic and I am far from being the perfect Catholic, especially in 2015. I wouldn't have considered myself at that time as being religious. However, Sophia literally saved my life. Sophia shared with me her Christian views, she prayed with me every night. I personally feel God sent Sophia as a hidden angel to guide me back towards him and his path he has for myself. I now can say that I am a spiritual person. If it wasn't for her talks or her guidance, I don't think I would've turned to spiritual guidance and help. I lived in some very dark days and if it wasn't for Sophia I don't think I would've survived those dark days. Sophia is more than a nurse and she is probably one of Sanford's greatest assets.
