My husband was admitted to CICU from the ED. Admitted with chest pain and scheduled for a heart cath the next day. Now, he thinks he is "Superman"- he works out, runs, (did a 10K and mini-marathon in May) and loves the outdoors. So he was determined this was indigestion! Thank goodness for the doctors, the ED, and nurses like Michelle, and all the excellent care provided at Hancock Health. He did have a heart attack- no damage and had 1 stent placed. Michelle went way beyond helping my husband understand all the procedures, IVs, and timelines. She let him complain about the bed, the beeping and made him as comfortable as possible. She answered all our questions and added wellness smiles and humor as needed. On Friday after his cath, she explained he would need to walk the CICU halls on Saturday and she would count the laps (20). When she was "called off" Saturday she called and had a nurse tell him he was still to do his laps and she was sorry she wasn't here to count. Thanks, Michelle.
