The situation which demonstrates all of the I CARE principles occurred Tuesday, October 29, 2013 when the Region 2 powers were down. Angie remained calm and re-arranged unit activities in order to accommodate printing the MARS. Not only did she print 7C's MARS but in addition she printed ICU, 3C, 10A and 6C while she had computer access.

She was viewed by staff members as the hero!! Her focus was on the veterans receiving their medications and she maintained the dignity and respect in all of her communications with both nursing staff and the informatics staff and techs. She volunteered her time in order to be sure the day shifts would have the MARS for medication administration.

This was a prime example of this outstanding nurse who has earned the trust and confidence of the unit staff through excellent schedule management to maintain the best quality of care for the veterans.
