Kimberly provided care to patient who presented emergently to Women and Babies Hospital triage department from an external birth center where she originally planned to deliver. The patient was brought to WBH for breech presentation; unfortunately the full term newborn did not survive the transport and labor and delivery. The patient and her husband had to grieve the loss of their son before they could celebrate his birth. Kimberly provided sincere, genuine care to the patient and her husband as the tragic outcome unfolded. The patient, although filled with grief and despair, could not stop saying abundantly positive remarks about her care while at WBH, she specifically mentioning Kimberly. The patient recently wrote a card thanking Kim for "taking over when she and her husband were still trying to process what had just happened." She wrote "Kimberly has a beautiful gift and I am so blessed to have been cared for by an angel."
