Mal is the ideal nurse to represent VA Nurses here at the Ralph H. Johnson. I feel that he embodies and demonstrates daily our core values. Recently, a Veteran came into our outpatient procedure area and required an IV. Upon check in to procedure, she requested that I call Mal, RN to start her IV. She explained that she is battling cancer and that IV starts on her are impossible. She stated that "Mal always comes through," for her. I could not have described him any better. Mal came to the Veteran and was smiling, professional, and got the IV started with no delay of treatment. Mal is definitely a person I consider as an outstanding coworker and he consistently demonstrates that he is a DAISY Nurse.
