My husband and I were involved in a car accident, hydroplaning during a rain storm. Our car was totaled; I was 38 weeks pregnant. Lori was the first to arrive at my vehicle, informing me she was an OB nurse. She checked for bleeding, if my water had broken, and if I was contracting. She assured us that we were going to be okay, held my hand, and asked questions about the baby to keep me calm. She held an umbrella at the door of the car. Lori communicated with the paramedics and walked with the umbrella to the ambulance. I was admitted to St Mary's and Lori came by the next day to meet us and check on us. Her calm demeanor and reassurances helped me be confident our baby was okay.
