Anthony works as a swat nurse in the ICU. Each time he is here he goes the extra mile for his patient every single day. It is quite extraordinary that his positive attitude and patience never waver. Anthony spends time talking and actively listening to not just his patients but their family members as well. He shows so much compassion for all patients. He is constantly smiling and laughing.
Anthony spent the day with one patient, a Vietnam vet, talking about his PTSD and helped eased his mind. On Valentine's Day, Anthony brought in homemade valentine cards and handed them out to all the patients and their families on our unit. It made all of our patients smile and feel some love for the day. These are just a few of the examples that Anthony does daily to help his patients and their families. He is also the first person to offer help to his fellow coworkers no matter what the task is. He is a joy to work next to and his smile and attitude are definitely contagious. He is the gold standard of nursing.
