After a successful surgery for a left knee replacement, I was admitted and at first, the experience went very well. I was happy to have achieved my goal of having the knee surgery, had very little pain and did the physical therapy. My recovery suddenly became complicated. There was a family crisis going on which was emotionally very upsetting. My blood pressure became elevated, the pain in my knee was worse and the medications caused me digestive issues. I was very stressed and worried. Nurse Jackie worked well with her team to take care of my physical needs, make sure I was comfortable and get the pain lowered. She kept the ice machine running and most importantly got my blood pressure under control. She was excellent in making decisions about which medications would work best and helping me calm down. Thanks to Jackie, I was able to feel like I was headed in the right direction and getting back to normal. Due to Nurse Jackie's efforts, I felt happy again and had a good experience at Miami Valley Hospital South.
