While traveling to work in the Fort Worth area, I came to your hospital at the advice of my OB to be checked out for a decreased fetal movement. I was shocked to find myself admitted several hours later experiencing contractions every 3-4 minutes. This was the absolute worst case scenario I could imagine, traveling alone, far from home, at only 31 weeks pregnant. After a very difficult first night, experiencing a strong reaction to magnesium IV, I was so relieved when Vivi walked into the room. Her cheerful, friendly smile immediately put me at ease. She got right to work, checked me out, checking for symptoms, and arranging for the doctor to see me. She was proficient, professional, and so obviously skilled at nursing. But anyone can do that. What set Vivi apart was the obvious care and genuine concern she showed for me as a patient. She knew I was scared and went out of her way to put me at ease until my family could arrive. Even after my "support team" was here, Vivi treated us all like family, helping them feel welcomed and bringing them up to speed on my care. She answered every last question patiently and cheerfully. I can't imagine what this experience would have been like without the support of Vivi. She is a gem and truly an asset to your hospital system.
