Catlin Ensign was an asset to the family that was traveling from Canada. This patient was admitted to our facility and the travel insurance company was denying the claim due to insufficient information on the medical issue. The patient's wife was beside herself and she did not know what to do after being on the phone for hours trying to come to an agreement over the insurance.
Catlin took the information from the wife and called them herself. She was able to talk to the insurance company and make them understand the need for medical care and was able to change their mind about the claim denial. The patient and his wife were over the moon with happiness with this information. They personally nominated Catlin for the DAISY award for her compassion and for putting her patient's needs first. The award was well deserved.
