I was admitted to the hospital with very critical labs - not a usual or normal occurrence for me. I'm a very healthy active person. No previous illness. Within hours, I received shocking news. I was in severe renal failure - but why? Dialysis started.
As I met them for my first treatment it was the interpersonal relationships they immediately established with the patients that was so impressive. That relationship strengthened as we added in another procedure - plasmapheresis and they transferred me from 3 South to the "overflow bed" in the dialysis unit.
As we discovered the source of my renal failure - a form of cancer!! - they became my extended family and support system and as my bad news kept getting worse, they always provided open ears, open arms and open hearts to help me through it all.
Sandra Temple, Alice Tavares and Kimberly Nixon are an awesome team. They are very cohesive and work very well as a team and make their patients laugh and feel cared for! They are awesome!
