It is hard to summarize in a couple of sentences why I think Sandy Rivera is extremely deserving of a DAISY Award. As a first-time mom, you don't know what to expect upon labor/delivery day. Sandy could not have been a more compassionate nurse while keeping myself and my family informed on the process. I am the first daughter of overprotective/loving parents to have a child of their own so my mom especially had many questions and could have seemed a little overbearing, yet Sandy answered each question with the utmost professionalism and a bright smile.
Sandy's knowledge and family-centered approach in the delivery room has left a huge impact on myself and my family. We are so thankful and honored to have had Sandy by my side. Sandy is an invaluable asset to IU North Hospital labor and delivery team. This nurse's clinical skills, compassionate care, exemplary service and commitment to excellence to patients, their families and our staff are recognized as an outstanding role model.
