I have seen Audra on numerous occasions simply stop what she is doing, and offer assistance to those who are struggling with something, even before they ask. She will hear a conversation around her and turn and ask how she can help. I have seen her stop what she is doing and anticipate the needs of someone coming onto her unit as if she wants everyone to know her unit is the best in the hospital.

One day she spent almost an hour working with me trying to problem solve a patient concern that involved other departments and other facilities. It was not her patient, but she saw that there was an issue and problem solved with me through to a solution. It was a very complicated patient situation, and the solution required some true creativity. I initially was very frustrated, but at the end of our shared experience, I felt satisfied that we had not only done the best for this patient, but had gone above and beyond.
