During my 1st shift back to work after funeral leave for my grandpa, I had the pleasure of taking care of an actively dying hospice patient on night shift. After my 1st rounds, I asked Jenni's opinion regarding administering morphine and plan of care for this patient. After Jenni had already punched out after her shift, she came to the patient's bedside to keep not only the patient company but myself as well, considering it was a difficult situation for me just 1 week after seeing my grandpa pass in a similar fashion. Jenni stayed an hour after she punched out to make sure the patient wasn't alone if she passed and allowed me to round on the rest of my patients. My next shift at work later that evening, Jennifer called the floor and asked to speak with me to see how I was doing as she heard that the patient had passed. Aside from this particular event, Jennifer is an outstanding nurse who genuinely cares for and spends a lot of time with her patients and coworkers.
