My dad died tonight. This could have been so much worse, so much harder to get through had it not been for Alissa who had been assigned to him this morning. For the entire day, she was there for us. We could tell my dad was declining. He was on Comfort Care only. She was patient professional and knowledgeable at all things. She explained the meds that were prescribed, how my dad could react to them and allowed my brother and me to feel as though we could make more informed choices. My dad did pass today, but with dignity and in a very comfortable state. Alissa has not forgotten how to show compassion to a family facing such a dire situation. You are very lucky to have her on your staff.
