Jamie was my first contact at Fox Chase. She called me and explained the process for obtaining an appointment for evaluation and then for a biopsy in the Endocrinology Department. She called me the next day and was surprised as I was to be able to get both the consultation and biopsy appointment the following day. And this was just my first encounter with my guardian angel.
Several weeks later, post-surgery, I received a call from Fox Chase who inadvertently told me I did not need an appointment for my lab work at FCCC for my post-op appointment. When I arrived for lab work, told I needed an appointment and that I should verify with my insurance company that they would cover the lab fees. I called Jamie from the courtyard on my cell and shared my frustration. I hung up with Jamie and called my insurance company to find that I must use LabCorp. As I hung up and turned around, my guardian angel had taken the time to search for me, found me in the courtyard, frustrated, and upset. Jamie apologized and took the initiative to help me find a nearby LabCorp, so I could have the tests done quickly, so the results would be to my doctor for my follow up appointment, 2 days later. And then, to put the icing on the cake, when Jamie saw me in the waiting room on the day of my post-op appointment, she told me that she checked my chart to be sure that my lab work had arrived in time and she assured me that it was in.
Jamie went far above my expectations in navigating me through the Fox Chase process, including navigating me off campus to a LabCorp in the neighborhood to expedite the lab results to my doctor.
Jamie is a one-in-a-million employee and a tribute to the caring staff at the Fox Chase Cancer Center!
