My patient was admitted for labor. She was already 5cm dilated and didn't speak any English. Any language barrier makes an admit longer and more difficult. I knew this patient was going to deliver quickly since this was her second baby and she was also going natural. Davina speaks Spanish and offered to come to interpret so we could get the patient admitted quickly. She stayed at the bedside to help admit the patient, for delivery and part of the recovery. Not only did Davina's help mean so much to me, but also to the patient as well as the doctors. This is just one of the many times that Davina has helped interpret for me. She is always willing to lend a helping hand. Not to mention, she's an amazing nurse. Woman's Hospital is so lucky to have her!
