Judy stood out to us. When my mom was feeling very hopeless and like the world had turned upside down, Judy was there for her. She listened as my mom told her all about my brother. She thanked my mom for sharing and letting her get to know him. That thank you meant so much to my mom, she came back into the room and told us about it.
After that, she met Judy in the hall several times and Judy always had time to stop and chat with her. It really made my mom feel like she had a true and caring friend here. She talked about Judy to us in the room and how talking to her helped her cope. When it was time to remove my brother from life support, she came into the consulting room to stand with my mom, then walked with us when the time came to go back into the room for my brother's final moments. She left us to be alone with him but came back after her shift to sit and talk with my mom. She really has a compassionate heart.
